This is an interesting topic, but I'm still wading through any useful concepts that actually deal with chronic pain in a successful way. I'm not certain that comparisons to computer programming are entirely useful, but you are presenting pithy ideas. The idea that pain is the main channel or path is a new one on me, but it does make some sense. So you are saying it's time to flex those muscles of perception? I don't see pain as a path to God, just a twisted way to pursue ecstacy.

I have a presentation called “Principles of Addiction” which addresses chronic pain because many addictions are related. This presentation was for the Finding Hermes group specifically so I cut it to that focus. I personally am challenged by chronic pain and much of this work came from that alchemy.

Are we in for a world of hurt, James?

Sounds kind of like the Jesuits...

Get you, but I have a high pain threshold and a brilliant dentist of 20 years that that knows I won't be numbed and treats accordingly. Pain, fear of pain, the lengths we go to avoiding it, relative? State of mind really.

By any chance are you a redhead? I am,. and I have a high pain threshold. I researched a little and redheads need more anaesthetic than any other of the hair colours.

More redheads were tortured throughout history so the epigenetic threshold was inherited. You guys were probably held underwater a lot too so it's harder to knock you out. Sorry about all that "You're a witch stuff, BTW."

That’s very interesting James,. thanks! Maybe that’s why we are known to have a short temper too? (though I’ve taught myself new ways and don’t suffer anger as much as I once did!) I was also nick-named the human dolphin as I could swim several lengths of the school pool holding my breath underwater.

And I thought I was done with looking in to my tortured past 😅 Just read a wee bit about the red haired witches.
