A big clue comes from noticing that the City of London is getting quieter very gradually over time. I caught a walkabout report the other day and the young lady was remarking that many of the very wealthy are deserting their super expensive pads in the posher zones - plenty of 'for sale' signs popping up. She also noticed very few people on the streets and in the bars during lunchtime on a week day. That is very telling! It always used to be heaving with activity!
